Some can say that Ngapali is the most beautiful beach in Myanmar. It takes about 16 hours by road from Yangon through Pyay or takes a flight to Thandwe for about 50 minutes from Yangon and 20 minutes from Ma Zin Thandwe Airport. It is located near the Mya Pyin village, Thandwe in Rakhine State, Rakhine mountain range in the east and the Bay of Bengal in the west. Chaung Tha Beach is one of the most beautiful spots in the world. It is located 40 km to the west of Pathein, in Ayeyarwaddy Division. Car trip from Yangon to Chaung Tha via Pathein takes about 5 hours driving. The beach curves inwards in the shape of a crescent stretching for nearly a mile and has the white sand with crystal clear blue water. There lays an islet called Thebyu which means white sand, one mile diagonally across Phokalar Island is formed by oysters and shells carried and piled up by tidal waves. One can relax on the white sand, lie underneath the coconut palms, visit to Suthaungpyat Pagoda, Phokalar Island and White Sand Island near the Chaung Tha Beach.
Ngwe Saung Beach, the newest beach destination in Myanmar is situated 48 km from Pathein in the Ayeyarwaddy Division, about 190 km from Yangon on the western seaboard of the country, facing the Bay of Bengal. Along the Yangon-Pathein Highway, it takes five hours drive. The beach stretches 15 km of white sand, blue sea, untouched surrounding, magnificent landscaping, most of all new hotels at chalet style with international standard and fringed with palm trees. Exploring the amazing surrounding at Ngwe Saung, give you a totally different environment away from the dust, noise and commotion of the city. It is also a cool and peaceful spot not only for young but also for the family. One can visit small fishing villages and local market, explore the country side by bicycle or enjoy a boat trip to the offshore islands.
